Historically the school was started in 1951
at Lyambi in Singida Region later on in 1952 it was transferred to Bumbuli
where the students continued with their second and third year on their
training. At first they enrolled students with form 2 and form 4 qualifications
they undertake 3 years training (Pre Service) leading to a Certificate in
Clinical Medicine
In 1960 the school enrolled Rural Medical
Aids (RMA) which took 2 years training and they were awarded Diploma in
Clinical Medicine
In 1974 as need for (RMA) to upgrade to
Clinical officer course. This training Center was the only center selected by
the Ministry of Health to enroll RMA TO undertake the Clinical Officers
Training.
The Training mode was offered in Theory and
Practical, students were given 1 month field attachment.
